I arrived for my again obligatory very-pre-Easter hair trim, like that of a hare, haha, and discovered there were a full seven stylists fully at work, not the usual three, (note the numerical symbolism on this holiday), as all hands were on board. The stylist I was lucky enough to have, post-St. Patrick’s Day, see more on that later, was a beauty with well-coiffed medium length blonde locks herself, and she said they are closing up shop early. (I don’t know if that meant her shift or the store as a whole.) But upon arrival, I was No. 10 on the top and only ten list, which soon jumped to an even dozen, then an un-lucky 13. My time to wait would be short, 23 minutes, as all stations were filled. But then the clock was slow, as it soon jumped to 26 minutes. Then (quickly) down to 22. I dropped to No. 9 on the list — Patient No. 9? — then soon moved to No. 6, bad number at Easter if you add two more, sorry Satanists, and not among them Ozzy, in Heaven and Hell, sorry Dio reference, despite that inexplicable jump to 26 minutes. But a short guitar solo’s worth later i was in The Chair. Spare electric razor, we’re talking a scissors stylist.
Soon afterward, I bought my again obligatory religion-based Easter card, with thoughts looking forward into the future and more holidays. Memorial Day and Labor Day as three-a-days, with the Fourth of July squeezed between, and that one can be four. I was tempted to get the one instead that had an apostle playing the castanets in a boat in an impromptu concert, with the lingo below saying, you doofus, he said cast a net! In the background is Jesus, on a cloud, I think, smacking his forehead. (OK maybe not, you don’t do that while wearing a crown of thorns. She smiled, He had not.)
But for the Easter ham and more, from the store. We just got past the corned-beef-based holiday, and with the price of beef, you likely do not want to add roast beast, different holiday all together, to your mix of meat, and max out your March-April food bill, as also more tariffs may have kicked in during the passage, and not of the Red Sea. I will supplement, since on my own this holiday, minus mom, with amped up Wholly Guacamole — extra chunky (with crunched chips mixed in) Mexican restaurant style, if or if not authentic, if you can still find them — and extra triange chips, with veggies added such as (leftover) bell peppers, yellow mostly, as they were four for a sale price, and onions and maybe a bit of carrot. To go with garlic/herb rice put in a Tool-like Pot opposite seasoned salt broccoli. Pretty please with Easter baking sugar on top, accept by toplings my toppings!
With that I have to, maybe, get to raking on The Donald for the obligatory pre-Easter firings. Noteworthy Pam Bondi pleading for her job, quite unlike Christ before Pilate. Take the whip that was coming. She might as well have been offering bondage! Can I say that at Easter, wait, we just got done with the cross of all things.
But now on This Day, a meditation on Nietzsche and Ozzy (for those familiar with the Black Sabbath song, recorded in the Year of our Lord 2013) …
God is dead? God remains dead? But in a reversal of course, as only He (and few) can do, God has arisen, with ascension themes. The murder of murders is now acquitted, as justice reigns in, in an odd way. The era of the Jerusalem temple template has teaching and triage transformed into triumph. (And yes, there is a lyrics writing handbook coming):
To placate with theology, to make the rhyme seem right
And add to it philosophy, skate just past the fright
I stand with devil and God holding fingers, to redeem darkened light
When it all is over(sight), can we still be friends
When surfacing, I typically get the bends
Add word-twisting, does light seem abright
And then with Satan, can all make amends
The right fight in sight will have us all defend
And His Will prevail, this we shall not pretend
The mighty salve of salvation will resolve the plight
Through the night it shows no smite, indeed alas
All again shows holy bright.
Happy, hoppy Easter
To even those in Palestine (and Ukraine, and Africa, does it ever stop?)
So Muslims, Hindus, Buddhists and all others too!!!
