The sobering reality check hits and not a mere cheeseburger can reverse it..
Mr. Hat, meet Mr. Reality, meet Mr. Mandate. Via Mr. Crowley.
If you don’t get that post-election humor, then there’s no hope … When it concerns the latter, check out the Ozzy song and it’s message, “won’t you ride my white horse,” and see if you then get the gag, as a U.S. dictator’s realm falls in a landslide rarely seen, white horse quickly breaking both legs before getting out of the barnyard..
As the last midterm election tallies are being, well, tallied, South Park roared on with its satire on Wednesday night lampooning Mr. Orange Hair and cyber attacking his buddies, and showing a character I thought might be Putin, only to be told it was actually the president of Denmark. The boys get more and more topical.
Anyway, as a microcosm based on Tuesday night, one might ask in humor, based on what google told me when I well, googled, how many bills were indeed passed by our Shannon (said: Sharpe married) or are actually named to out Zimmerman. The robust answer, as far as the political not joking end? A full one passed, with only three making it to the house floor, as Zimmerman’s attempts in his newsletter to constituents to take credit for voting measure successes, and how they reached across the aisle, falls flat in reality.
The mainstream media, long with their hands tied and mouths muzzled by their management, is now treating this election debacle for The Red as nothing short of an event as cataclastic as the fall of Hitler as he lay dying in a bunker. They say point-blank, that nothing much like this finally falling, faustian fascist in the post-WWII world has been seen since that point, except for maybe Nixon’s electoral fall from grace, as the blue wave drowns any hope MAGA had left, as any good tsunami should.
With some of the scantly-making-a-difference votes still coming in, the question is what will Trump and Musk and Vance and the like do from here, with the last of Trump’s two years as MAGA is facing what has been called certain “extinction.” These dinosaurs with red baseball caps — not Mr. Hat — fell under the blue wave, as per a joking video showing drowning, like they had any agenda in the first place.
With a GOP president, and GOP in control of both parts of Congress, the Republicans had a blank check, and no one to blame but themselves for their failures, election-wise and otherwise. That was then, and this is now.
Tom Tiffany’s run for governor was quelled, as his association with Trump proved to be damning.
For their part, St. Croix County voters seem to have not listened to the inevitable onslaught around them. While opponent David Crowley took the early absentee balloting at the county’s precinct level, the Town of Hudson, by 780 to 1001, (note just one over 1,000), thus he trailed behind overall by 26,975 to 20,212 countywide.
Other Republican statewide candidates stood firm, all through, each carrying the county, as local voters did not hear the volcano rumbling and put them in by a few thousand apiece, gathering almost 30,000 votes each. The candidate with the most votes, countywide, was state treasurer John Leiber.
And in Alaska, for state Senate, what’s in a namesake? All are still asking that — with an apparent Democratic win — will the real Dan Sullivan please stand up? The Dem by that name is salivating, and Trump is squirming … (Maybe they need to make just one nameplate to serve both candidates, no matter who is the victor.) In Texas, too toast, in the highly sought after but tight seats for both parties, it one of many states with what was called a trifecta blue win. I believe she meant the governor race and both houses of Congress.
But data centers also were rebuked. Yes, we all love our AI for what-does-not-go-beyond-basic, but it needs to be safely regulated, as in kept in check, as per its development, and not padded through what’s paid to the pockets of the mighty. Hear that Shannon Zimmerman? His total in the county was still lagging behind, 11,366 to Kevin Knoke’s superior 11,867.
And Trump on His Own Private War against Iran? That like Afghanistan, yes I used the A word, keeps on going and going … With the voters casting a big no to huge diesel prices and the idea that the war is worth the suffering at home, as long as the (big) nukes are kept out of that Third-World-but-getting-to-be-more country … Strait flush, as The Donald’s late stumping proved a kiss of death. What does a dictator do? As this war and its price at the pump, like everything anywhere near political these days, is all about Him, no matter how much he tries to distance from it. And that’s not to mention the ICE bullying, and tariffs, and the also high price of Everything Made By Man. Missiles included in that costly package. Enhanced pricing also available, to those with any credit, to their name.
He blames everyone but him, across the board, for the collapse. And He is faintly still delusional enough to think he can make up an executive order and buy Boardwalk, announced while standing next to his badly tainted reflective pool, (with golden arch, just one, over it), in addition to his ballroom. And get Fox News to report it is only Park Place or one of those shitty railroads. Oh wait, they are no longer considered a buddy/puppet. And KSTP, owned by very conservative Hubbard Broadcasting, for once did not lead off with or substantially report on fraud in its nightly newscast. Have they see the lack of difference made by fraud, shown by their indifference. Back at the St. Croix County Government Center, even two stringers for USA Today showed up, not just me, Mr. AP!
So now it’s let’s see what the Dems can do with the mess they’ve inherited, seems to be the message I’m hearing. Would you like that job? Cleaning up in two years what has been trashed in two? And in the next four years of a presidential run, in 2030, hey 2 times 2 equals that four. In light of Tuesday, does Vance even have a chance?
Highlights from other voting: In the sheriff race, Scott Knudson ran unopposed, but faced 955 write-in votes. Almost the same was seen in the tighter incumbent circuit court race. All the three referendum questions won by several thousand votes, with the last one having the largest gap between “yay” and “nay” as partyline voting held sway. The two city of Hudson, specific referendum questions each passed by significant margins.
